Breastfeeding Friendly Practice Designation

We support pediatric clinics that are pursuing a Breastfeeding Friendly Designation from the Academy of Pediatrics of Kansas and the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition. Participating practices can earn up to a 5 star designation, one star for each of the Breastfeeding Friendly Practice criteria:

• A breastfeeding friendly office environment

• Education for both staff and parents

• Policies and procedures that promote breastfeeding

• Community connections and breastfeeding resources

• On-site individualized breastfeeding support

We assist with the breastfeeding friendly office environment by sharing breastfeeding books for kids in their waiting room, community connections and breastfeeding resources.
