Breastfeeding Welcome Here | Business Pledges

Our ongoing commitment to encourage local Johnson county businesses to pledge to continue to welcome breastfeeding families into their establishment. They pledge to:

1. Provide a welcoming environment where breastfeeding mothers and able to sit anywhere and enjoy a welcoming attitude from staff, management and, to the fullest extent possible, other customers while breastfeeding.

2. Place a "Breastfeeding Welcome Here" window logo cling in full view of all who enter. And staff members are knowledgeable of how to handle complaints about breastfeeding.

3. Inform staff and concerned customers that breastfeeding in public is protected by Kansas State Law and that this business welcomes breastfeeding patrons. Increasing visibility normalizes breastfeeding and creates safe environments for families to feed however they want.

Do you know of breastfeeding friendly businesses who would take the pledge? We use the KBC Tool Box for guidance and materials. They fill out the pledge and we submit for them! And the get recognized both state and locally. It's a win-win!
